About whitescreen.studio

whitescreen.studio is 45 single-purpose full screen tools. Each one does one thing — fill your display with a colour, turn it into a light, run a test pattern, or show something that looks alarming but isn't.

There is no account, no paywall and no usage limit. Every tool runs entirely as client-side code in your browser: no colour you pick, screenshot you take or setting you change is sent to a server, because there is no server involved once the page has loaded.

Why these exist

A screen is a large, even, dimmable light source that most people already own, and it turns out to be genuinely useful as one — for video calls, for photography, for tracing, for finding the dust on another screen. The tools here just remove everything between you and that.

The test patterns exist for a narrower reason: display faults are almost invisible on normal content and completely obvious on a flat field. Anyone who has just bought a monitor should spend two minutes with a dead pixel test and a backlight bleed test while the return window is still open.

About the prank screens

The fake update, crash and cracked-screen pages are drawings. They install nothing, change nothing and touch no files. Closing the tab ends them completely. They are meant to be funny for about thirty seconds — please do not leave one running on a stranger's machine.
